a shot at poetry, a thought

I once felt like a particle of oxygen 10 feet above the earth’s atmosphere
Not quite where I belonged
10 feet below things like me bumped into each other
At some heights not quite so often
But here there was only me
The question arose
How did you end up here?
And
Why do they stay in there?
It’s colder out here
More space in which to stretch
But it’s lonelier and hard to bare
